Important Kart Racing Information:

There is no age limit on go karting, however you must meet certain height requirements:
You must be at least 48" (4ft) to drive a junior kart.
You must be at least 58" (4ft 10in) to drive an adult kart.
For safety reasons, we are unable to run races with adult go karts and junior go karts simultaneously.
Closed toe shoes are required to race go carts.
Full-face helmets are REQUIRED. We provide helmets at no cost.
A headsock is ALSO REQUIRED. You may provide your own, or purchase one for $5. Headsocks are washable and reusable.
All go karting participants must complete and sign a waiver prior to racing.
Minors must have a waiver signed by someone 18 or older.
Races run for 6 minutes, with a 1 minute warm-up.
How do go kart races work?
Races at Nitro City run in the fastest-lap format, which means the winner is the go cart racer with the best single lap time. This means that you have 6 minutes to set the best single lap time. Starting position is random, and your lap time is counted from when YOUR go kart passes over the Start/Finish Line.
When a go kart race begins, the carts exit the front of the pit and perform a warm-up lap. This gives everyone a chance to get a feel for the kart, and for the track master to get everyone up to speed. The go kart race ends when the remaining time expires.
When the race is over, the go carts enter the back of the pit and return to the row from which they came. When the pit staff gives the all clear, the racers can exit their go karts and the pit.
